Rev. Patricia HayesPatricia HayesRev. Patricia Hayes, Senior Pastor, is a graduate of Andover Newton Theological School and has served at Christ Church since December, 2005. Prior to coming to Brockton, Rev. Patricia served as a full-time church consultant with The Alban Institute, as a regional minister, as a pastor in Bangor, Maine, and she celebrated 30 years of ordination in 2016. Rev. Patricia enjoys meeting folks one on one, and is in the church office Wednesdays through Sundays, barring meetings. She is married to Rev. Fred Hayes, who serves churches in interim ministry. Rev. Patricia plays violin, weaves, and has two grown children and two grandchildren.

Erin2Erin Reardon - Erin Reardon – Minister of Visitation, is a graduate of Andover Newton Theological School and served with Christ Congregational Church in 2013-14 as a field education student. Since then, she has served as our part-time Minister of Visitation and co-leader of confirmation. Erin hails from Vermont, is a lifelong UCC and a lifelong student. She has especially trained in chaplaincy, completing three units of Clinical Pastoral Education. On a beautiful summer day off you can look for Erin “gone fishing”.

 

Lisa Hulbert – Director of Christian Education, began serving at Christ Congregational Church in August, 2016, although she is a lifelong member of the church. A graduate of Bridgewater State University, Llsa served as DCE at our sister UCC churches in Braintree and Lexington before returning home. Lisa is a certified DCE through the Massachusetts Conference, UCC, and brings great enthusiasm to work with her! Lisa is also part of the steering team for World Voices, our multicultural choir, and she leads the leadership training portion of the program. Besides her work at the church, Lisa is training a puppy to be a certified therapy dog and has one other pet dog as well.

Murray Kidd smallMurray Kidd – Music Director – is an active presence in the musical world of New England. He is the resident conductor of the Vermont Music and Arts Center, staff conductor of the Wellesley Chamber Music Center and a tenor soloist for many of Boston’s most distinguished organizations. He is director of choirs at Middleboro High School. At church he oversees the choirs and hand bell groups and always welcomes new musicians. He serves as the Artistic Director for World Voices, a multicultural choir for community teens founded here at the church. Murray’s family is all very musical, and from time to time you might see his wife or two young sons in the choir loft as special guest musicians.

Sylvia Berry – Organist and Accompanist, is a Philadelphia native and has performed extensively at home and abroad as both a soloist and chamber musician. While getting a late start in music – she did not begin lessons until age 13 – she went on to study at the New England Conservatory, the Oberlin Conservatory, and the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. It was at Oberlin that she received a Master’s degree in historical keyboard instruments, learning organ, harpsichord, and fortepiano and began playing at area churches. As a concertizer, Berry is known not only for her exciting performances but for her engaging commentary about the music and the instruments she plays. Though a classical musician by trade, Sylvia loves many genres of music, and loves playing gospel at Christ Church.

Deana Colby – Church Secretary, is available Tuesdays-Fridays, 9am-2pm. Deana is a member of the church, mother of three, and started her position in September, 2016. Deana manages publications (the bulletin and newsletter) and a wide range of other tasks and duties.

Bill Cockshaw - Bill Cockshaw serves as Facilities Manager and Chef, in charge of the building and grounds and the Wednesday night dinners.  Bill is a long time member of the church, is a past moderator, and sings in the choir.

Thomas Fisher – Thomas Fisher serves as our security person and is here whenever committees or other evening functions are going on. He is the “go to” person if there is a problem with the building, helps committees get set up, and locks up at the end of the night. Thomas is a life-long church member and teaches math in Brockton by day. He is married to Sheppo, and has two children, Tamara and Sam.

Jennifer Brosky and Rev. Karen McArthur – Jennifer Brosky and Rev. Karen McArthur keep the books at Christ Church. They are most likely to be found in the building on Tuesdays, but can be reached by email, phone, or through the church office.
